Now for my favorite accessory — flowers. Your local florist can design the coolest flowers to complement today’s hottest trends and your unique style. Here are five top prom trends and the flowers to match:
Neon. It is hot right now, and in every possible color on the color wheel. Wearing neon to prom is definitely a showstopper. And, yes, neon florals is totally an option. Florists can design wrist corsages with neon bracelets or even with actual neon flowers.
White or Black Lace. White is not just for brides. It’s sweet, feminine and makes a girl feel pretty. When wearing white to prom, choose white florals with a white or black satin ribbon or sweet soft lace to accent your dress.
Metallic. Metallic is a classic look, and your florist can give it a modern twist by using silver and gold bracelets, metal rings as well as metal wire. Metallic elements add a bit of brightness to any color of flower.
Tuxedos for ladies. This is one of my favorite trends because it is so bold. I recommend a classic boutonnière, but very girly. By wearing a bold and masculine outfit, you need to show a little of your feminine side — a perfect way to do that is with a flower — the fluffier the better.
Prom Princess. Classic isn’t always standard. Roses and gerbera daisies are classic flowers in many minds, but we florists like to add a little flair such as pinning rhinestones to the center of daisies.
Flowers can complement whatever style trend you choose to help you look and feel spectacular on prom night. Your florist is there to help. For prom floral advice and ideas, visit abouflowers.com.
